A New King is Crowned!
That's right, Brian King of Chicago, Il ran away and hid at the 2007 Corndog Classic, thoroughly dominating the field in the sweltering heat of Tiger's Eye Golf Club in North Carolina. Mr King netted a 76, besting his nearest competitor, Merritt Gile, by 3 strokes. Mr. Gile's 79 was good enough to wrap up second place and a lovely silver trophy. Mr. King's victory is all the more impressive given he nearly lost his putter in a tree off the 7th green after losing his temper following an unsuccessful par putt - King was able to shake off the disappointment and bring home the gold. Golden fried corndogs that is... Please stay tuned for the rest of the scores, pictures, and recap from CDC3.

2006 Horse Sponsorship Update
03.26.2007: As we mentioned, last years proceeds went to our friends at the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. We were able to sponsor a good old gelding named Master Fast - his details are below:

Master Fast - Foal of 1987 - Gelding, Chestnut
Sire: Timeless Native
Dam: Spray Cottage (By Bask)
Career Starts: 44 (12 Wins)
Earnings: $150,487
Location: Wallkill State Correctional Institute, Wallkill, NY
Few horses are more popular among the inmates/caregivers at the Wallkill farm than Master Fast, who was, in his day, a hard-knocker on the New England circuit. "He's a very playful horse who likes to fool around with the guys," said Jim Tremper, who runs the Wallkill program. "He's always the first one to run to the fence if he smells someone coming with apples or carrots. He has a fun personality and the guys really like having him around." Master Fast far exceeded expectations during his racing career. Sold for just $1,500 as a yearling, he won the 1990 Memorial Day Handicap at Rockingham and placed in five other stakes races.
