LODGING: Our home away from home for 4 nights beginning on Aug 22 will be the Barefoot Golf Resort, www.barefootgolfresort.com. Based on our final headcount of 12 total people, I booked 2 separate condos consisting of 4 bedrooms/3 full baths. Each condo has 1 king bed and 4 queens (one bedroom has 2 beds), full kitchens, and high-speed internet access. Nice!
GOLF: There will be 9 golfers this year... a 33% increase over last! I booked three rounds on the mornings of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Barefoot (Love Course), True Blue, and TPC of Myrtle Beach, respectively. We can do replays on sister courses for a discount rate in the afternoon on those days. If I had secured afternoon tee times we wouldn't be eligible for the discount, but I have been told that late August in the afternoon is pretty slow. We shouldn't have a problem getting on.
ITINERARY:
Wednesday, 8/22 - Arrival and registration
Myrtle Beach Airport is reasonably priced and served by all major airlines. Jen and I will be leaving Atlanta Wednesday AM with estimated arrival in the early afternoon. If anyone is interested in flying to Atlanta and making the 6 hour drive to MB with us, please plan on arriving Tuesday night and departing late Sunday night or Monday. We would be happy to have you!
I will be able to pick people up at the MB airport in the afternoon. If you plan on arriving in the morning and don't want to wait around for us, there is transportation available from the airport to the resort. I will check on prices/schedules for anyone who is interested.
The festivities will kick off that evening with the Jost Van Dyke DanceParty - Myrtle Beach Edition (don't ask, just be there).
Thursday, 8/23: Barefoot - Love Course
7:08am, 7:16, 7:24 - Afternoon replay: Barefoot Dye, Norman, or Fazio courses
Friday, 8/24: True Blue
8am, 8:08, 8:16 - Afternoon replay: Caladonia Golf Club
Saturday, 8/25: TPC of Myrtle Beach ---> 3rd Annual Corndog Classic
8:04am, 8:12, 8:20 - Afternoon replay: optional
Sunday, 8/26 - Departure - depending on your flights, there might be some time for golf this day, too.
